My New iMac? What?

Posted on September 24, 2009 at 12:19 AM Comments comments (0)

Yes, I am getting an iMac 20" probably this Christmas. I am saving up. So far, I have 18.5 % of how much money i need. But My birthday, and then Christmas are coming, so i will have plenty of money by Christmas. Yes, I will be making a full switch to mac, and me and YoChewy on Twitter, and Youtube, might, (JUST MIGHT) make a joint account on Youtube where we will both be making videos for it, he will be making PC videos, and I will be making Mac videos. He just got a brand new Gateway computer with windows, and so he will probably stick with that. (It's an awesome computer) And I, wanting a better computer, will be going for an iMac. This way we will be able to show people how to use both. It will be cool if we do end up doing that. I will keep you guys updated on that. But until then, keep watching both our videos, and I'll keep making them. See you guys later.

Thunderbird

Thunderbird is a Mail client for Windows, and Mac. It is much easier to use than outlook, and I figured out how to use it with a free yahoo mail account. There are videos on youtube showing you how to do that. Once I got it working I have to say it works awesome! With other e-mail clients like G-Mail the process of setting it up will be much easier. (There are hundreds of tutorials on youtube.) The interface is awesome, it's extremely easy to use, and I find it loads better than going to the laggy new Yahoo website to check your e-mail all the time. I usually just keep it open! There are also tons of different settings for it, and it works like Firefox, (made by same company) where you can get cool add-ons, (themes, etc.) and it is just probably one of the best e-mail clients out there. I will rate it ***** out of 5.

If you know "The Creative One" from youtube, or you have been to his main site @thecreativeone.tv

Then you might have found out his newly released website. This website is called Forumbytes, and is a whole lot of fun. There are 100's of topics, and you can create your own too. These topics fit into the categories he has allready put up, and you can register, and then be free to post. This website is mainly pushed towards tech related stuff, but if you are reading this from my website, you are probably allready interested in tech anyway

I would go check it out.

You can also watch a video on it.

Review of Twhirl

Twhirl is an awesome Twitter Client for Windows, and Mac.

Download: http://www.twhirl.org/

I have used it in the past, and now I'm using it now. I just downloaded it yesterday, and out of all the Twitter clients for Windows, it is probably the simplest. I have been changing Twitter Clients rapidly over the summer, but I am probably sticking with this one for a while because of ease of use. I had Tweetdeck, but I found one problem with it. You have to keep it running and it doesn't go into the panel at the bottom right like programs like Skype, or Twhirl. I like it when it does that, because then when I minimize it, it goes there instead of the taskbar. Then it's almost as if it's not even running, and it also allows me to make it run at startup.

I rate this program *****

AlertThingy

I am going to do a video review of this program soon. It is for macs, and PC's. This program is free and is called AlertThingy. You download it and install it from its website.

Pros: Once you have installed it, you can setup many websites with it including Facebook, Twitter, Twitpic, Flickr, and more. Once setup with your accounts, it updates you whenever something happens on facebook, twitter, or whatever else you have set up combined. It really helps if you have an account on many websites and you dont want to have to keep switching between sites. It has allerts on the bottom right side of the screen, and you can reply to tweets and direct message the tweeter. It has a cool semi-transparent UI (User interface), and looks stylish in both Mac OS X, and Windows. You can also click on one of the icons on the bottom of the program, and send a tweet, a facebook status, or even a picture to flickr or twitpic.I really recommend it. I rate this program ***** (4 Stars out of 5.)

Cons: The only problem I have found with this program is that after I have minimized and maximized it a few times, it will freeze. Not literally freeze, I can still use it perfectly, I can rezise it, I just cant move it. I cant move the window around the screen. Then I restart the program and it works again. Not such a big deal but I though i would mention it.

Spaz-Twitter Client Review

Posted on July 23, 2009 at 2:27 PM Comments comments (0)

I have been looking for the perfect twitter client to fulfill my needs, and I've used Twhirl, Tweetdeck, Tweetr, and now, Spaz. I fell for it over the others because of amazing customization options, ease of use, and more. You can also set it to minimize to the system tray. Therefore, keeping it open. It is a lot faster than other twitter clients too. I found that Twhirl and Tweetdeck were the slowest of the 4. Tweetdeck had too many features i didn't need. Twhirl I thought looked ugly, and was sluggish. Tweetr was too simple, and didn't have any customization options. Spaz, I found today, and it turned out to be perfect for me. Fast, easy to use, free, and good-looking. So I suggest you check it out and try downloading it here

Google OS

So Google is coming out with an OS. I don't know much about it, but It probably will be fast, simple to use, and of course, free. If this works, Apple and Microsoft are going to be in trouble. All of Googles products are perfect, and free. Google Search, Google Earth, Picasa, Google Chrome, the G1 Phone, Gmail, and the new Google Wave coming out. Everything they have made was amazing. I am really looking forward to seeing what will happen when this comes out.
